BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Columbia Outdoor School is the non-profit charity organization responsible for the operation of Blue Lake Camp. The Society consists of local individuals, educators, businesses and industries dedicated to providing balanced resource education for all ages.
The 2016 Annual General Meeting occurred at 11 am on Saturday June 10th at Blue Lake Camp as part of the 40th anniversary celebration event. The Minutes of the AGM can be found HERE and the ED Report presentation can be found HERE and the Constitution, Bylaws and Election of Officers presentation can be found HERE.
With the transition to the new Societies Act, the Board of Directors reviewed our constitution and our bylaws. A number of changes were identified as part of that review and a new Constitution and By-laws was proposed for approval at our AGM this year. Please download the Approved Constitution and Bylaws.
The Society is currently seeking to fill vacancies on our Board of Directors as well as on our committees. The Board meets approximately 4-5 times per year for approximately 2 hours each meeting. The Board provides guidance and support to the staff, approves, policy and budgets and provides direction on our vision and goals. Blue Lake has four committees:
Blue Paddle: Raises funds, approves requests for funding and coordinates promotions for the Blue Paddle Campership Fund.
Education: Provides program directions for the organization, assists with planning for education, promotions and technical support on lesson planning and training.
Events: This committee will assist with the coordination, organization and promotion of events that Blue Lake will offer, examples include "Women Retreat", Pig Roast, etc.
Facilities: Provides support for capital development plans, maintenance logistics, facility troubleshooting and development.
Please contact the Executive Director at firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about getting more involved. We would love to bring you on board and work with you to make Blue Lake an exceptional place for kids to connect with Nature.
